“Acquiring value to give value”: this is the philosophy that, particularly in recent years, has guided the work of S.I.S., aware of the fact that only by directing its investments towards a strong commitment to research, experimentation and the transfer of innovations to the agricultural world, benefits and security can be brought to the entire supply chain.

Investments in research are thus oriented not only to obtain new agronomically performing varieties, but also to improve their qualitative and organoleptic characteristics, in order to set them in the supply chains and in different usage types.

S.I.S. displays a complete, innovative catalogue that suits all needs and intended uses:

  • supply chains for food, with attention to milling and nutritional characteristics;
  • organic, identifying the varieties and hybrids that are less demanding in terms of nutrition and more tolerant to plant diseases;
  • agroenergy, identifying varieties and hybrids which, thanks to their energy content, are suitable for the production of biodiesel and biogas;
  • zootechnics, through the search for varieties and hybrids with high starch, protein and highly digestible fiber content;
  • sustainable agriculture applied in all areas including marginal ones, with the selection of varieties and hybrids suitable for producing with low inputs, aiming to produce more with less.

  • modern and performing selection plants;
  • varietal purity and germination vigor: certified seed also as an fundamental support for supply chain production.

Certified Seed

The reason why sowing Certified Seed

  1. Increased yield and “safe” sowing thanks to specific purity, germinability, germination energy, absence of pathogens and weeds and the quality of industrial seed treatment. These are the elements that allow each seed to express its maximum production potential.
  2. Ready-to-use seed. Saving time and guaranting safety for operators, since further manipulation of chemical products, selection and stocking operations are not necessary.
  3. Access and support for genetic improvement. Increasingly productive varieties, more resistant to diseases and with better technological quality. Varietal innovation is only possible through the certification system.
  4. Compliance with regulations. To be sold, seeds must be officially certified. The sale and purchase of uncertified seeds is illegal and punishable by law. Unauthorized use of patented varieties is subject to legal action.
  5. Tracked productions. Traceability improves the valorisation of the harvest and promotes access to supply chain contracts.
  6. Greater attention to the environment. The use of certified seed allows to comply with eco-conditionality regulations and reduce the use of agrochemicals and fertilizers.

L’ attività della Società è articolata in tutte le fasi del ciclo del seme e si esprime nella costituzione di nuove varietà, nella moltiplicazione delle sementi ed infine nella loro lavorazione.  Le sementi così prodotte sono commercializzate attraverso un puntuale supporto tecnico, sempre con l’intento di mettere a disposizione degli agricoltori strumenti innovativi che consentano loro di migliorare le proprie produzioni.

Agroenergie

Quello delle AGROENERGIE rappresenta un settore in grande evoluzione e prevede che da parte dell’azienda agricola venga affrontato con la dovuta professionalità e con prodotti adeguati.
In questo senso S.I.S., da sempre attenta alle innovazioni e alle esigenze degli agricoltori, pur nell’imprescindibile priorità di destinazione alimentare delle colture agricole, ha arricchito in questi anni il proprio catalogo di prodotti particolarmente vocati ad uso energetico.
Per consentirne agli utilizzatori un’individuazione immediata, tali prodotti appaiono contrassegnati dal marchio  ENERGIA VERDE a sua volta distinto tra la filiera del BIOGAS, quella dell’AGROENERGIA DA COMBUSTIONE e quella del BIODIESEL.

Alta digeribilità

Un’altra categoria di agricoltori a cui S.I.S., fedele alle proprie origini di grande competenza nel settore delle foraggere, ha sempre dedicato un’attenzione specifica è quello degli allevatori. All’interno del nostro portafoglio ci sono prodotti che per le loro caratteristiche, individuate attraverso un’approfondita e diffusa sperimentazione, offrono all’azienda zootecnica importanti opportunità di successo.  Questi prodotti sono individuati dal marchio ALTA DIGERIBILITA’ / MASSIMA ENERGIA.

Agricoltura biologica

Anche in questo caso S.I.S., società molto attenta all’evoluzione delle esigenze dei consumatori ha da anni all’interno del suo ricchissimo catalogo diversi prodotti che per le loro caratteristiche genetiche di tolleranze, qualità e adattabilità risultano le più idonee alla produzione biologica e vengono pertanto certificate e commercializzate anche in versione biologica.
Questi prodotti si distinguono grazie al marchio SEME BIO.

Agricoltura sostenibile

In questo ambito S.I.S. sviluppa attività di breeding e sperimentazione atte all’ottenimento di varietà ed ibridi capaci di produrre di più con meno in tutti gli ambienti, sia quelli di altissima fertilità che quelli estremamente marginali, in tutte le condizioni pedo-climatiche e di coltivazione.  E’ posta, infine, una particolare attenzione alle così dette colture di copertura, o cover crop, e a quelle da sovescio, per ridurre i rischi di lisciviazione dei nutrienti e mantenere sempre in azione l’attività depuratrice della fotosintesi.  I prodotti sono contraddistinti dal logo/marchio  AGRO – SOSTENIBILE
